So yesterday ended up being a pretty fanshmabulous day...
Cass and I met Jenn @ Starbucks in Lougheed for some coffee and window shopping, then headed off to the Ridge for dinner at my mom's place. I found out my brother wants his friend to move in, which means I don't have to move into his house! WOOHOO! Phew, anyway, yeah, I met Craig,my mom's boyfriend, and he seems really cool. Nothin' but good vibes, they seem great for each other :) My mom has most of her stuff packed up and is just about to take off to the center of the universe... heh.
Dinner was amazing, as per usual. Man can the lady cook! Too bad I didn't learn anything (well not true... I can cook) <-- note to smokin' single men!!! I left at about 7:30 to drive Cassie to John's and make the Commodore by 9.
I got to the Commodore and was greeting by a familiar voice coming up the stars, my good buddy Patrick - personal security guard extraordinaire! He called me a snob and said, "What, you don't say hello to me anymore?" Brings me back to X-Mas time at A&B, us sittin' back talking about all the Toronto guys I can't wait to see in a couple weeks. I wish I had been in the scene ten years ago.
I met up with some other friends shortly after, Lisa & the gang, talked to a smokin' IME fan (he was wearing a Quicksilver Meat Dream t=shirt, had to ask). What a hottie. *Cough* oh yeah and I saw the Tea Party! WOW. That was in=fucking=credible!!!Acoustic and Electric, I haven't seen such a stunning performance in such a long time... a year at least. They played "In this time" from Splendor Solis, acoustic, and I cried. (Such a baby) I waited for Winter Solstice all night, and they played it at the end after doing a duet of the Messenger with Holly McNarland, and just before Sister Awake. Geeeeeeeeouuuuurrrgious. Almost 3 hours of Tea Party goodness!
Near the end of the night, I was sleepy but wanted to chat with Patrick a little bit more. He lead me into the green room to hang out with the guys, who were in incredible moods, particularily Jeff Martin (shocking?!?) Never got to say "hi" to Wattsy, but all was well nonetheless.
Going to see an apartment today! woohoo!
